Need for

Construction
Curriculum
As you prepare for your children’s ministries do you feel that . . .

1. Your teaching material does not teach all the truths of the Bible?

2. Your teaching material does not really teach what we believe as a Fellowship of Grace Brethren
Churches?

3. Your teaching material is all written for head knowledge but not to make life-changing disciples of your
children?

4. Your teaching material is boring and does not actively involve the students?

5. Your teaching material does not prepare your students to be fully trained disciples who obey God and
learn the value of prayer and accountability?

Kids Under Construction has been written by Dr. Rick A. Clark, a Grace Brethren pastor for the past 20 years.  “I
desire to see our children’s lives built on the Lord Jesus Christ, through a systematic and life-changing study of the
Bible.”
The goal of this material is that the FGBC may have a new generation of fully devoted followers of the Lord Jesus
Christ.
There are 6 years of elementary age lessons built on the FGBC Statement of Faith. It has been used in 2 Grace
Brethren churches in the last 8 years.

The Distinctives are:
1.        Each lesson is Bible based and systematically teaches the Bible to our children. 100% Bible based and
covers every major area of doctrine and theology.
2.        Each lesson systematically teaches our children what we believe as the Fellowship of Grace Brethren
Churches. It is based on our statement of faith. Teaches 100% of what we believe and want a disciple
to be.
3.        Each lesson is written for life-change. Each lesson has an aim that is not only for head knowledge but to
challenge the student to change his or her life to be obedient to God.
4.        Each lesson actively involves the student according to his or her age level and needs. Today’s children
need to discover God’s truth by being actively involved.
5.        Each lesson provides a small group experience for children by encouraging the students to share prayer
requests and pray for each other in relation to what God wants them to do in response to the lesson as
well as for each other. Prayer must be taught to our children as a normal part of the Christian life.
